About Me

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Melbourne, in the south-east corner of Australia. Summers were hot, and I took to surfing despite not knowing how to swim (I soon learnt). I then took to surfing in winter when it wasn’t as hot – and then ended up going skiing instead. I still surf and ski when I can as well as going hiking and, when I can, climbing.

Music is a passion. I play guitar mainly, but also a bit of mandolin, ukulele and, more recently, the double bass, given that one is now standing in the living room. I also enjoy photography and try to tie all these pursuits together in video slideshows of hikes with a musical backing of my own making, which you can view on YouTube.

Things fell in a bit of a heap mid 2010 when a regular check-up led to a blood test which led to a diagnosis of leukaemia. Having leukaemia is a pain, particularly in my leg bones. Fortunately, I have been  responding well to treatment and I am now getting back into things.
